Unified Portal – POC

The Ministry of Education (MOE) in KSA embarked on a journey to create a unified portal, serving as a one-stop-shop for all audiences, from students and parents to schools and business owners. Offering a seamless user experience, this comprehensive resource enables users to access a wide variety of services, including student management, academic resources, and administrative support, all under one roof. As a User Experience Consultant for this POC, I ensured the portal’s intuitiveness and functionality catered to all MOE audiences’ needs. This case study details the design and development process of the MOE unified portal.

MOE initially had various separate systems for different services, creating difficulties for employees, teachers, parents, and students in efficiently performing daily tasks. The absence of modern technologies and a unified portal resulted in a disjointed user experience and frustration. The challenge was to streamline these systems into a unified, easy-to-use portal that meets all users’ needs.

To better understand our users, we conducted user interviews, usability tests, and observations. This approach gave us valuable insights into their pain points and preferences related to the existing systems and services. The challenge was to leverage these insights to create a unified portal that would meet their expectations and provide a seamless user experience.

A digital bracelet for students streamlines several school procedures, enhancing overall educational experience. This innovative tool automatically tracks attendance, mitigating the need for roll calls and reducing errors. It features GPS tracking, enabling real-time student location monitoring for school administrators and parents, thus elevating safety during school activities and field trips.

The bracelet also supports cashless payments for cafeteria and vending machine purchases, diminishing theft risks and offering students convenience. Furthermore, it monitors student health by tracking heart rate and activity levels, aiding in identifying potential health issues and fostering healthy habits. This all-in-one solution provides significant benefits to students and school administrators alike.
